Images & the feed: where chats become content.
Character.AI grew a visual layer: characters can generate images in conversation, Scenes stage cinematic moments, Streams pit two characters together, and everything shareable lands in a scrolling community feed. Here’s the tour, and how creators get discovered.
01Images inside conversations
Characters can produce images mid-chat — the portrait of the villain you just described, the room you walked into. Ask in plain language or in parentheses. Style consistency comes from the same trick as text: describe the visual style once, early, and reference it ("in the same style as before").
02Scenes and Streams
Scenes are staged cinematic moments — your character dropped into a prebuilt dramatic setup, on mobile. Streams generate an interaction between any two characters on a topic you pick: press play and watch. Both take one minute to try and are the fastest way to see a character’s personality stress-tested outside your own chats.
03The community feed, for creators
The feed is the discovery engine — trending characters, popular Scenes and Streams, creator content. For character creators this is the growth loop: a shareable Stream featuring your character is an ad for it. Post creations with strong hooks (the contradiction from the advanced lesson IS the hook) and watch which framings pull chats.
Deep character → entertaining Stream → feed visibility → chats → feedback → sharper character. Every popular creator on the platform is running this loop, deliberately or not.
